Meet the Team

Candor is defined in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary as “unreserved, honest, or sincere expression.” While deliberating over what the potential names of our practice would be, we landed on Candor because it represented one of the things we want to foster in each client session. We want our clients to be comfortable enough with us to engage sincerely, openly, without fear or abandon. This allows us to do our best work and provide the most insight into what therapeutic techniques and modalities would work best in these situations.

We consider ourselves a network because we are each in a different location and what strings us together as well as connects us to our clients is a network of wires, cables, and internet signals. Our therapeutic techniques work in a similar way; they are all interconnected, weaving together into a framework of potential explanations of how minds (networks in their own right) work.

We each bring something unique and different to the table, whether it’s a unique set of personal circumstances or experiences or simply a different perspective on long-held or established therapeutic modalities.

One thing we each wish people would know about therapy at our practice:

  • Kristi: Transparency. We want you to ask questions and feel comfortable.

  • Megan: We’re different. We were each drawn to build this network because we felt clients weren’t being helped by the big companies that won’t work with you or be able to talk to you about billing or unethically discharge you for whatever reason.

  • Stephanie: It is normal to feel uncomfortable with admitting to yourself the challenges you are facing may require guidance from a therapist. We look forward to meeting you.

  • Landon: We are on your side and want to support your goals. We all care about you as a person and want to help you to live your best life.

One piece of advice for anyone considering therapy for the first time:

  • Kristi: Shopping around for a therapist is okay and encouraged!

  • Megan: You get out of therapy what you put in. The more you’re willing to work, the better the outcome. Finding the right fit of therapist is so important. Give someone a try for three or four sessions before trying someone else.

  • Stephanie: One of the toughest parts of therapy is being ready to start.

  • Landon: The decision to start therapy can be a big step to take, but therapy works!

Our coffee orders (you can learn a lot about someone from the coffee they drink):

  • Kristi: I like to switch it up, but I always have cinnamon in my coffee at home.

  • Megan: Double tall French vanilla latte or pumpkin spice latte (I know, I know)

  • Stephanie: Black cold brew with a dash of cinnamon

  • Landon: Almost black cold brew with a small amount of skim milk

We hope that this little insight into our practice and who we are as a team is helpful. As the practice gets going, we’ll be sharing a little more about ourselves and what else you can expect from the practice. For more on the team, check out the team-specific page and to schedule an initial consult, drop us an email (info@candortherapynetwork.com) or fill out the form on our Contact Us page.
