Meet Ashley
Ashley served in the United States Navy active duty from 2008-2018 before returning to civilian life to complete her education. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Human Service with a focus on Addiction Prevention and Treatment and Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University. She specializes in treating substance use disorders and various process (behavioral) addictions, including gambling and sex addiction.
In addition, she has experience working with co-occurring mental health concerns to address the root of substance use disorders rather than just their symptoms.
She takes a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy and utilizes an eclectic approach when working with clients, working to incorporate all parts of the self into therapy including personal values and cultural beliefs into their recovery and therapeutic processes.
She has primarily worked in outpatient medication assisted treatment (MAT) facilities with underserved populations battling opiate use disorders and currently serves as a therapist with the Farley Center, specializing in the recovery of veterans and first responders through in-patient rehabilitation.
Additionally, Ashley is trained to conduct one-time level of care assessments for those struggling with substance use to determine the appropriate level of services. She also offers low-intensity long-term remission counseling for those wishing to continue their recovery journey.
